Part of the front and inside page of Pathescope's first leaflet since 1940. I believe they had arranged with UK Kodak to provide some print stock - but there was a World War on at the time!
Notes:
1. Re-issued in the UK by Renown in 1947, so maybe not all prints are lost, unlike many of the pre-war British Lion film productions.
2. D.R. James screened this film on 9.5mm sound to Sandy Powell. During the show, Sandy identified one of the extras as John Clements. 3. When Sandy Powell appeared on "This Is Your Life", the producers could not locate prints of any of his films on any gauge. At another time Dave Wyatt provided BBC-TV with a 9.5mm sound print of this picture for a programme on Sandy. 4. A 9.5mm sound excerpt was projected on the big screen at the National Film Theatre when Grahame Newnham and Dave Wyatt gave a show/talk called "They Survive On Nine-Five" in February 1999. Using a converted Elf RT2 projector, a twenty foot picture was obtained (f1.2 lens and slightly overvolted lamp! - plus quite decent sound hooked into the cinema system). 5. A clip from the 9.5mm print of this film was used in "Cinema In Miniature" a one reel production about home movies made by Lee Mannering and commercially released on 8mm.
6. Released by Pathéscope on 9.5mm sound in March 1941, "It's A Grand Old World" had disappeared from the Pathéscope Film Catalogue by 1953.
7. A 9.5mm sound transfer is available on DVD at £5.95 plus 90p UK postage from myself - see the sales lists on this web-site.
